even though we were getting ready to leave town we had to swing out to colleen's house. she hadn't even settled in there yet, really. but she was an excellent host none-the-less. colleen is beautiful. precocious. she talks and babbles all the time. loves people. and it was really fun to see the jet-lagged mom and dad settling into their new job descriptions - mom and dad.

the official party is tomorrow but we'll be gone and will miss it. that's ok. there's always our regularly scheduled get together - which will be even more exciting. we can celebrate Joy and MeiMei, Isaac, and Dallas will have a new friend to play with. . . i think we'll turn them loose in the toy room, shut the door and just walk away to go look at brendan and january's pictures of their trip.

it was late getting out of there and we still had 3 hours on the road to go but my buzz from the day (and the several ounces of caffeine i consumed) kept me wide awake the whole drive.
