why do angels have wings?
this really isn't worthy of a full post but thought i'd toss it out there anyway. maybe we'll have some interesting comments?
why do angels have wings? does it imply that there are supernatural physics? or does it imply that even angels are bound by the same physical laws we are? if so, that does give credence to the idea that there are spiritual laws, too. we know by experience that what goes up must come down. and many of us know by experience that we reap what we sow even though many try to deny the fact.
or does God just think wings are cool?

I think wings are cool. Being that I am made in the image of God (not merely physical, but also soul and spirit) then God must also think wings are cool (because we have the same mind . . . at least part, maybe I just got the eccentric left-overs). Therefore Him, being God, can do what He pleases for what ever bloody reason (even if that means no reason at all) he wants. So, God, seeing that wings are cool wanted to use them as much as he could and did. He also loved wings so much he gave the seraphim 6 each (though I think that would make flying hard, but who am I to critique).
Unfortunately, He didn't want to over do it and stopped shortly after the fish, but right before man. To make up for it (after some whiney girl chided him for not giving her wings) decided that man would be special and gave us Himself instead of wings (with a desperate hope to make up for his prior indescretion of not giving the little girl wings). I would say it seems to have worked.
Unfortunately, the same little girl got hungry and did something stupid at the behest of a garden snake and, now, we're all suffering without wings or God.
That is what I think.
